Kildwick Primary School

About Us

Kildwick C.E. Primary School is a Church of England controlled school which briefly means one of church foundation, controlled by the local authority. It is a co-educational primary school, catering for day pupils between the ages of four and eleven.

The school is housed in buildings of Victorian age in the village of Kildwick, close to St. Andrew's Church and the Leeds-Liverpool canal, overlooking the Aire Valley. The school, which has been much improved in recent years, has four classrooms, hall, library, staff room, music room, Secretary/Bursar office, Headteacher office, computer classroom, playing area and sports field.

The school serves the community of Kildwick and Farnhill, involving the village in many of its activities and events. It does, however, also attract a number of children from other areas. The maximum number of children to be admitted in to the Reception class in any academic year has been set by the Local Education Authority, in consultation with Governors of our school, at 17. The number on roll as at September 2008 was 121.
